Metal Shark Wins Large U.S. Military Contract

As reported in The Maritime Executive, JEC Marine would like to congratulate US-based Metal Shark on being awarded the contract to produce the U.S. Navy’s next-generation patrol boat, the PB(X). This is the second major U.S. Navy contract awarded to Metal Shark this year after they were selected to build up to thirteen Near Coastal Patrol Vessels (NCPVs) for the Navy in June.

Jimmy Gravois and his wife Donna founded Gravois Aluminum Boats, LLC, in 1986, bringing to life the company that would one day become Metal Shark. Mr. Gravois has steered a steady course for the company throughout its existence – from its formative period as a regional builder of custom aluminum fishing boats, to what is today an industry leader serving multiple markets globally.

Similarly, JEC Marine was founded by husband and wife team Paul and Heike Jindra and not unlike Metal Shark soon became a leading supplier of electrical marine components to boat builders throughout Australia and internationally.
