Fire Pumps – MP100R-BL

Fire pumps are vital boating equipment, particularly in emergencies. Prolonged use, and weeks or months of disuse, can cause shaft seals to deteriorate and leak. The JEC range of centrifugal marine pumps have no shaft seals so no leaks or deterioration.
Why Use JEC Pumps and Fans?  As any experienced skipper will tell, trouble usually starts in an engine’s auxiliary equipment. Small things like pumps and fans can leave you stranded. Unlike adapted automotive pumps and fans, JEC has developed a range of DC powered pumps and fans specifically for the marine environment and the harsh conditions of your engine room. Your engines were designed to operate in these conditions and so should all other equipment that you install. Demonstration test of JEC’s new brushless 28V magnetic drive pump. Corrosion-resistant construction with full polymer pumping chamber which allows it to safely live with and pump seawater. Height of building is approximately 6.75m.

JEC’s Marine Fire Pumps

MP100R-BL
  • Operating Voltage: 24V nominal (28 operational) pending installation and size of hoses of 25mm (1inch) inlet/outlet and can be specified as hose barb, 1”BSPT or 1”NPT
  • Pump’s capacity is about 150l/minute to approx 13m height, depending on size of nozzle, from the level of the pump via an encased pipe
  • When spraying into air, conditions such as voltage and wind do play a role. We can guarantee that a total height of 6-7m will be reached.
Key Features
  • Magnetically coupled drive for 100% efficiency
  • DC brushless motors - high efficiency, compact designs running on the marine engine's electrical system, not AC power of onshore pumps
  • Admiralty standard construction for exceptionally long life - stainless steel shaft and bearings, all aluminium body for stator, housing, electronic board PCB housing, with heat sink and long aluminium screws are hard anodised & sealed with dichromate which prevents galvanic corrosion.
  • Stator & electronic housing : The entire assembly of the motor housings (stator and PCB housing) is sealed with O-rings and is waterproof. The front bearing of the rotor that drives the magnetic cup is protected by the impeller housing that separates the two chambers by the virtue of magnetic field. So, no water can enter into the motor assembly.
  • Wide voltage tolerance - pump will run reliably whether batteries are fully charged or under-voltage.

The stator is potted with a heat conductive epoxy in order to remove the heat from the winding and lamination as well as the heat created in the cavity of the stator. In addition, the epoxy prevents potential short circuits in the windings, due to vibration or any leakage due to damaged seal.

The rotor magnets are glued to the body, laminated and covered with heat conductive epoxy to prevent any damage or corrosion to the magnets as well as removing heat.

Other Features
  • Maximum running temperature of 80ºC (176ºF)
  • 3600rpm
  • 24V DC motor, operating voltage 10V to 28V DC
  • For 12V application we provide a 600W 12V to 24V booster ( see booster – “power generation” )
  • Adjustable pressure build up delay time of around 5-6 seconds, which prevents lock-up of the system and protects hoses and spray guns.
